Chosen or free to choose

In this study, the topic is the doctrine of election, also known as the theory of predestination. Not everyone who reads this will be familiar with this doctrine. That is why a brief explanation is given first in the introduction.

The view discussed here is the Calvinist view: God sovereignly chooses whom He saves. He Himself decides who will and who will not be saved. Whether someone lives a decent life and goes on their knees three times a day or not, they can never know for sure whether they have been chosen by God. This doctrine is still preached in churches and congregations and is deeply rooted in the DNA of church teaching.

Part 1 - Chosen or Free to Choose?

What does Jesus say about placing human tradition above the law of God?

Part 3 – Chosen or Free to Choose?

This part explores what can be done personally. Everyone is free to choose whether to come to Jesus or not.

Part 2 – Chosen or Free to Choose?

This part explains what the Bible says about election, and whether people such as the Pharaoh of Egypt or Judas, who betrayed Jesus, had a free choice themselves.
